“Paramilitary trappings of beret, gloves and uniformed escort at Martin Meehan’s funeral, shows that it is still IRA/Sinn Fein. They are still steeped in and inextricably linked to the culture and symbols that glorify terrorism.
When you watch Gerry Adams along with the Shankill bomber carry a paramilitary bedecked coffin, little wonder so many ordinary unionists still take the view that Sinn Fein is unfit for government.
I challenge Ian Paisley to explain how this paramilitary funeral and attachment to IRA militarism, is compatible with his empty boast that his partner in government had changed and sworn allegiance to the rule of law.”
