Allister helps launch 'Fair Chair' campaign

Jim Allister, with cross-party colleagues, in Strasbourg at the launch of the "Fair Chair" campaign for reform of how the European Parliament is run.
Timed to coincide with the upcoming election of a new President by the Parliament, the campaign is seeking to galvanise support for policies including:
• an end to "the travelling circus" of sitting in both Brussels and Strasbourg;
• the requirement for the President to act as an independent Speaker, rather than a party hack;
• reform of the voting system;
• permitting real debate rather than managed set piece presentations.
