HMV Ballymena Closure and Job Losses

08 February 2013

Commenting on the announcement that the HMV store in Ballymena is due to close, TUV Leader Jim Allister has stated:

“I am sad to hear that HMV in Fairhill Shopping Centre is due to close with the loss of 11 jobs and my thoughts go to those who now have an uncertain future.

“A week hardly seems to go by without closures and job losses in Ballymena and North Antrim. The workforce of Ballymena has plenty to offer businesses and investment in Ballymena and North Antrim would prove beneficial to any company.

“It behoves Invest NI to now make a determined effort to help Ballymena. Hitherto other constituencies have fared much better when it comes to Invest NI promotion of foreign investment. The deficit of attention to North Antrim must be reversed.”
