Allister Congratulates Ann Travers on Belfast Telegraph Award

Responding to the news that Ann Travers was named the Belfast Telegraph’s Inspirational Woman of the Year TUV leader Jim Allister said:
“I cannot think of a more deserving recipient of this award than Ann Travers. Ann’s fight for justice has been one which has touched many people in Northern Ireland right across the political and religious divide. The disgusting decision to appoint the woman convicted of her sister’s murder as a Special Adviser thrust her into the spotlight and Ann’s courageous stand has indeed been an inspiration to many people.
“Her stand for justice, the rights of victims and common decency were the catalyst for my Private Members Bill which seeks to ensure that the pain inflicted on Ann and her family by Sinn Fein’s insensitive actions can never happen again.
“I heartily congratulate Ann on receiving an award which is thoroughly deserved.”
