Braced for bad news for Ballymena
05 November 2012
Commenting on the emerging news of financial difficulties at David Patton Ltd, TUV MLA for North Antrim Jim Allister said:-
"Pattons has been such a key part of the economy of Ballymena and district for so long that the prospect of losing it is dire. With over 300 jobs at stake this is news no one wants to hear. My thoughts are with both the Patton family and their substantial and loyal workforce.
"With different aspects to the business I hope that at least something significant can be salvaged which will lessen the blow. Now is a time for Invest NI and DETI to show their mettle.
"In the construction sector, in particular, there are knock-on losses with sub-contractors when a company gets into difficulties and, therefore, the ramifications across North Antrim could be severe."
