Ourselves Alone still the Sinn Fein mantra

11 June 2012

Statement by TUV Leader Jim Allister:

"The latest hissy fit from Her Majesty's Culture Minister, Ms Cullen, demonstrates, yet again, the engrained bigotry and intolerance of Sinn Fein. Happy to misuse British ministerial office to peddle her republican agenda, and to accept a British salary from British taxpayers while doing so, but outraged that Her Majesty might set foot in Stormont without Sinn Fein sanction.

"Yet, when it comes to the use of Stormont grounds, Sinn Fein fronted last August a GAA event, what they termed 'Poc ar an Cnoc' - a long puck event, with no thought towards local or unionist opinion or, indeed, historical accuracy.  So, in Sinn Fein's terms they must have the right to occupy Stormont's ground for a gaelic event, but the Sovereign of the nation of which we are a part must be banished outside its gates!

"All fair-minded citizens will greatly welcome the hosting of a Garden Party for Her Majesty in the Stormont grounds, which will be all the better for the absence of Minister Cullen.

“However, given Sinn Fein/IRA’s aversion to all things Royal I was surprised to learn that co-First Minister McGuinness will soon be taking up the title of Crown Steward and Bailiff of the three Chiltern Hundreds of Stoke, Desborough and Burnham.”
