Time for McGuinness to answer the Mathers plea

13 April 2012

“After an Easter of hyperbole from Sinn Fein about recognising hurt and healing, the appeal from the Mathers family for help in bringing the brutal killers of Joanne Mathers to justice puts all their rhetoric to the test.

“It is inconceivable that a young mother and census worker was murdered without the sanction of the IRA leadership in Londonderry. Hence, the onus on McGuinness to tell what he knows. I believe that the answer to Mr Mathers’ plea lies in the dark secrets concealed in the heart of the one who now likes to pose as a statesman. McGuinness could help the Mathers family – and many, many others – but he belligerently refuses to do so, still putting his IRA oath above all else; making the Easter speeches mere optics for the gullible.”
