TUV Leader Challenges McGuinness on IRA Involvement on Assembly Floor

29 November 2011

During questions to Joint First Minister Martin McGuinness following a statement on a North/South Ministerial Council meeting North Antrim MLA Jim Allister took the opportunity to challenge him about his role in the IRA campaign. Mr Allister asked:

“We know from the media that, on the margins, there were discussions with Enda Kenny about the Republic’s facilitation of the IRA’s terrorist and genocide campaign. Although it is good to press the Republic about those matters, did no one think to ask you, deputy First Minister, what you know about them and what help you could give to solve those issues?”

The Speaker did not provide McGuinness with an opportunity to respond.
