Bungling Ford bungles on

Statement by Jim Allister MLA:
“Part of David Ford’s pathetic excuse for failing to write to all ex-police reservists to alert them to the Gratuity payment was the threat it might create to their security. Now, his bungling department jeopardises the security of those who did apply in time by sending out letters with the subject matter visible through the envelope! Oh the joys of caring, efficient devolution!
“This latest twist to his department’s inept handling of the Gratuity issue should cause him to not only hang his head in shame but consider his position. Jeopardising the security of former security personnel is a serious matter in this day of resurgent terrorism. Mr Ford is very precious about the status of his position as a minister; well let’s see what action he proposes to safeguard those whose security his department has endangered.”
