DUP holding Peace II conference

27 June 2005

DUP Member of the European Parliament, Jim Allister QC has organised a PEACE II information event, in order to better equip representatives from the Unionist community to generate applications for funding. The meeting is being held on Wednesday 29th June in the Park Avenue Hotel, Belfast and will commence at 7.30pm. Shaun Henry, Director of PEACE II from the Special EU Programmes Body will deliver a presentation and information will be available.

Jim Allister said,

“We are now at the half-way point in the application process of the PEACE II extension. I have lobbied consistently for changes to that programme in order to address the anti-Unionist bias which has existed heretofore. The purpose of this event is to equip local representatives and community workers with the necessary knowledge to generate applications from within our under-represented community. Anyone wishing to attend should contact my office as soon as possible as places are limited.”
