Wake up call to Corporation Tax dreamers
17 June 2011
“George Osborne’s firm declaration that the £385m price tag on Corporation Tax is not for negotiation, but ‘the figure’, should be a wake up call to those sleepwalking Northern Ireland into an unaffordable cut to the block grant in return for the nebulous hope of a long-term economic return from cutting corporation tax.
“The only certainty in the corporation tax debate is that there will be a massive cut in the block grant, which means less services and less public sector jobs. The return of more profit for large corporations hardly compares.”
