McArdle adds insult to injury

02 June 2011

Statement by TUV Leader Jim Allister MLA:-

“Mary McArdle’s attempted justification of the murder of Mary Travers as a “terrible mistake” adds insult to injury. Mary Travers was murdered in a planned IRA attack. There was no remorse from the IRA at the time and I still detect none from McArdle.

“If there was any genuine regret, then McArdle would now be going to the police with the names of her fellow gang members. This is the test of her real attitude. Anyone who sincerely believes they are responsible for a “terrible mistake” wants to make amends. Helping bring the other killers to what now passes for justice, under the Belfast Agreement, is the least McArdle can and should do. Of course, she will not because like all convicted terrorists in IRA/Sinn Fein loyalty to the republican code comes first.”
