When is a Provo not a Provo?

22 April 2011

Statement by TUV Leader Jim Allister:-

“The claim of responsibility for the murder of Con Kerr, as reported in the Belfast Telegraph, if correct, poses serious questions for the IRA/Sinn Fein leadership, which must not be swept under the carpet.

“If the killers are recent members of so called ‘mainstream IRA’, then the probability is they are known to the McGuinness/Adams leadership and identifiable by them. So will they now be outed to the PSNI, or does the ‘republican code of honour’ still supersede civic duty and protect them?

“Likewise, it raises new questions on their training, sophistication and equipment. Did it, including semtex, come from Provo dumps which were supposedly decommissioned? When will the shroud be lifted from the con of decommissioning and the truth of its sparcity revealed? Or, is that too something so uncomfortable to the ‘peace process’ that its deception must be protected?”
