Where does Ian Paisley Junior now stand on Libya?

22 March 2011

Statement by TUV Leader Jim Allister:-

“All who care for freedom and stability will support our brave servicemen as they put themselves in the way of danger in Libya. I note the DUP has also tendered its support, yet just 18 months ago Ian Paisley Junior, as Chairman of the Policing Board’s Human Resources Committee, was approving the secondment of PSNI officers to help train the tyrant Gaddafi’s militia. “How foolish Mr Paisley looks now as Allied forces have to move to protect Libyan civilians from the excesses of those same forces that he then thought we should help train!

“Though at the time Mr Paisley belligerently defended his actions – even in the face of Nigel Dodds questioning on what planet he was living – now, would be an apt time for him to acknowledge how wrong he got it, if that is his view? Maybe, he still thinks helping Gaddafi was a smart thing to do. ( http://www.tuv.org.uk/press-releases/view/324/allister-keeps-up-the-pressure-on-galactic-junior )
