AOH's refusal to expel gunman

28 February 2011

Comment by TUV Leader Jim Allister on AOH's decision not to expel Gerry McGeough:-

"By clutching convicted gunman McGeough to their bosom, the AOH demonstrates that, contrary to its supposed anti-violence ethos, they in fact provide a warm house for the terrorist.

"This was the AOH's opportunity to prove its credentials. By choosing to stand by a terrorist convicted of a hideous sectarian murder attempt, they expose their own hypocrisy and true heart.

"If it were an Orange organisation which was harbouring a convicted terrorist in its ranks there would be a hue and cry from every nationalist politician. So, I challenge both the SDLP and Sinn Fein to declare themselves on this shameful AOH decision."
