Adams rubs it in to DUP
16 December 2010
Statement by TUV Leader Jim Allister:-
“The manner in which on UTV Live last night Gerry Adams gloated over how Sinn Fein had vanquished the DUP is something on which every DUP member should quietly reflect.
“When an IRA leader can boast of the political processes achieved by them at Stormont as the DUP having to manage the end of the Union and can so gleefully rub it in to Gregory Campbell, then every DUP member should take time to think about what they’ve done and the legacy they have created.
“As for Adams’ accolades for the Paisleys, happily, that is a burden no TUV member will ever have to bear.”
Adams quotes:
On the DUP - "A Unionist party which has to manage basically, basically what will end up as the end of the Union has a very difficult job to do"
On what he will miss about Stormont - "I will miss Gregory Campbell. He said there would be no power sharing arrangements. He said there would be no Sinn Fein in government. He said there would be no DUP and Sinn Fein in government. He said there would be no transfer of policing and justice powers. He said there would be no justice minister. So I have come to watch him because all the things he says weren't going to happen have happened. In Leinster House if I am lucky enough to get elected maybe Gregory would come with me".
