Serious drift from Stormont on PMS

22 November 2010

Commenting on the delay in resolving the PMS crisis, two years on, TUV Leader Jim Allister said:

"With this now being exclusively a Stormont Executive issue, now that the Treasury is ready to deliver on its part of the deal that was sought from them, it is disappointing that fresh delay is afflicting this matter. The Treasury can no longer be blamed; the tardiness now lies in Stormont where, alas, its hopeless dusfunctionalism is blighting progress. Even a declaration that the Executive has approved the rescue package would signal some hope, but with it being tied in, unnecessarily, to the Budget negotiations, it is now in danger of being a casualty of the political gridlock that lies at the heart of government. Little wonder frustration levels are rising among PMS savers."
