Minister Poots out of his depth

Statement by TUV Leader Jim Allister QC:-
“Lord Justice Girvan’s measured but conspicuous censure of Minister Poots over his gauche media comments, during on-going judicial process affecting the future of John Lewis coming to Sprucefield, suggests a minister out of his depth.
“Competent Ministers know better than to wade in with loaded comments directly relating to on-going legal proceedings. Little wonder Girvan LJ has observed that issues around the sub judice rule may well arise.
“All supporters, myself included, of John Lewis coming to Sprucefield will be disappointed that Minister Poots may have endangered such an outcome with his bungling intervention.”
