More unanswered questions for Mr Robinson
30 March 2010
Statement by Jim Allister QC, TUV Leader
"For a man who just a few weeks ago declared himself cleared of all allegations, it seems the First Minister has still a few property-related questions to address. His good fortune in being able to persuade a hard-nosed business man to part with a ranson stripe of land for just £5 was quite remarkable, particularly as it seemed to tranform his garden into a £1/2m asset!
"It raises again the same, as yet unanswered, questions that arose in the £25,000 donations through Iris Robinson. How was it so easy? What, if anything, was given in return? And, is there a further history of such?
"The failure to declare an interest either at Castlereagh Council, or in the parliamentary register, add further to the unanswered questions.
"Once more Peter Robinson's moral authority to govern is in question, though the questions facing the leadership of the DUP's partner, Sinn Fein, are even more deap seated, for they touch upon the most serious offence in the criminal calendar."
