Who is stifling democracy in Castlereagh?

Statement by TUV Leader Jim Allister:-
"Yet another week has passed and still no date for the overdue by-election in Castlereagh. Why?
"Who is dragging their feet and seeking to stretch the poll to coincide with the General Election? It is clear which political party would have that motive, but surely the Electoral Office wouldn't allow it and has had more than enough time to fix a date.
"I have a challenge for DUP-controlled Castlereagh Council, what advice have officers given to the Electoral Office about their ability or inability to provide the administrative staff for a poll before 6th May? Is someone manipulating the process to postpone the poll? It's time the Council came clean on this issue and it is certainly time the voters in Castlereagh were given a date to replace Mrs Robinson."
