Allister delighted to see Wrightbus investing in the future

05 March 2010

Commenting on a £7m investment by The Wright Group in R & D at their Galgorm bus plant, TUV Leader Jim Allister said once more by its foresight and commitment the company had demonstrated why it was at the forefront of its industry and a continuing success.

In a statement Mr allister said:-

“The decision by Wright Group to invest £7m in R & D, aided by £1.8m from the European Regional Development Fund and Invest NI, is a huge vote of confidence by this inspirational company in the future. Instead of lying down under the pressures of the recession the Wright Grouop has recognised that future prosperity lies in getting ahead of the competition and thus investing in new technology and design.

“While £1.8m through InvestNI is good, the largest share of this investment, £5.2m, is coming from the company itself, something which shows commitment and dedication to continue to grow Wrights as a leader in this highly competitive field.

“The expansions seen in exports by Wrightbus have been very encouraging and I have no doubt this investment in future planning will pay off. So, well done again to the innovative and far-seeing management and workforce at Wrights.”
