Remember IRA/Sinn Fein infamy in McCartney murder - Allister

Any Unionist contemplating devolving policing and justice to a Sinn Fein inclusive Executive should remember IRA/Sinn Fein’s meddling in the McCartney case, warns TUV Leader Jim Allister on the 5th anniversary of the murder of Robert McCartney.
Statement by TUV Leader Jim Allister QC:-
“The timing of the present policing and justice jamboree at Hillsborough could not be more sickeningly ironic. 5 years ago today IRA men murdered Robert McCartney. They got away with it because IRA/Sinn Fein closed ranks to protect their own, even to the point of the Trial Judge commenting adversely on the IRA meeting with Crown witnesses – meetings organised, according to the sworn testimony of one witness, by Gerry Kelly MLA.
“Gillen J felt compelled to conclude in respect one witness “there exists the possibility that his evidence, including identification of the people he has named, may have been influenced or indeed even directed by the IRA. At the very least there must be a real possibility that his evidence has been through a sieve orchestrated by this unlawful organisation.”
“It is clear that the IRA’s malevolent meddling in the case polluted and perverted justice. The McCartney trial and episode underscores why Sinn Fein should never be let anywhere near policing and justice.
“Yet the party to the forefront of such murky activities are those clamouring at Hillsborough to get their evil hands on the very disciplines of policing and justice. The 5th anniversary of the McCartney murder should be a conscience-pricking reminder to all as to why policing and justice should not be devolved to a terrorist-inclusive Executive.”
