No more powers to terrorist-inclusive government - Allister

No more powers to terrorist-inclusive government - Allister

Statement by TUV Leader Jim Allister QC:-

"The spectacle at Hillsborough is confirmation in itself that the system of government to which we have been subjected under the Belfast Agreement is utterly unworkable. Three years on and it has unravelled to utter disarray.

"The people of Northern Ireland deserve better; they deserve devolution which works. What they've got is a rigged perversion of democracy which can never work, because it is built on the empowerment by veto of a party, IRA/Sinn Fein, determined to prove Northern Ireland a failed political entity. Their purpose is to bring the same chaos to policing and justice as they've delivered to education. This is still the organisation which remains proud and unapologetic in respect of its butchering of policemen and judges.

"Policing and justice should never be devolved to an Executive in which convicted terrorists hold the power of veto.

"I also warn Unionists that Sinn Fein is not only seeking to get their meddling hands on policing and justice but is now also demanding an Irish Language Act - something the DUP assured us was dead and buried."
