Statement by TUV Leader Jim Allister QC:-
“The teetering of the Executive on the brink of collapse is confirmation in itself that Belfast Agreement devolution can never bring the stability required in Northern Ireland. Coming on top of its record of twelve years of abject failure, none more obvious than the dysfunctionalism and gridlock of the last three years, it really is time to fact facts: terrorist-inclusive government cannot and will not work.
“Sinn Fein is not in office to bring good government to Northern Ireland – a place whose name they will not even speak – look at the deliberate turmoil they have brought to education. Martin McGuinness’ life’s work has been dedicated to the destabilising and destruction of this part of the United Kingdom and such is still his purpose. Securing policing and justice is but another, though pivotal, part of his ‘Brits Out’ agenda. It is not an end in itself but “a new arena of struggle” where the next government-crippling demand will be all-Ireland structures and evolution.
“The armalite to the head will be the constant tactic of a Sinn Fein determined to keep Northern Ireland destabilised till it attains its ultimate goal from push-over Unionism.”
