Sinn Fein's mendacity catching up with them

15 January 2010

Statement by TUV Leader Jim Allister QC

"Sinn Fein's mendacity over Liam Adams is catching up with them. First Arthur Morgan TD had to eventually admit he had been misleading in his denials about Liam Adams' role in Louth. Now, Sinn Fein has had to eat its words about Liam Adams being cut off by the party after his supposed expulsion. In fact it turns out he remained active in Sinn Fein in Belfast after 2000, the very area where his alleged offences occurred. But all seeing, all knowing Gerry Adams didn't know! Yeah, likely!

"Just as Liam Adams worked with young people under Gerry Adams' nose in West Belfast, so they would now expect us to believe he worked for the party, but Gerry never saw him or knew.

"The latest Sinn Fein statement raises as many questions as it answers. It is another attempt at obfuscation."
