McCartney to address TUV Conference on education
02 November 2009
At its annual conference next Saturday, 7th November, one of the main debates will be on education and the present shambles brought to this vital subject by the DUP/Sinn Fein coalition.
The motion for debate from Ballymena Branch is as follows:-
“This Conference, appalled by the chaos brought to education by the DUP/Sinn Fein coalition, calls for the resignation of Catriona Ruane and the restoration of an ordered and regulated system for the transfer of children to secondary schools.”
During this debate a guest keynote address will be given by Robert McCartney QC in his capacity as Chairman of the National Grammar Schools Association. Mr McCartney has been to the fore in writing and speaking on education and at a time when children are forced, by the intransigence of Ruane to engage in an unregulated transfer process it will be timely to hear from him.
