Sinn Fein Brussels publicity stunt a humiliating flop

07 December 2004

The Sinn Fein publicity stunt in Brussels this morning was a humiliating flop.  There were more protestors than participants. A very lonely de Brun drew only 2 fellow MEPs to her cause, while 5 MEPS, Jim Allister, Jim Nicholson and 3 Conservatives, were joined by a couple of dozen protestors on a picket line outside the meeting.

Commenting, Jim Allister MEP said, "Sinn Fein/IRA thought they could strut the European stage with their tawdry propaganda that they were the victims rather than the perpetrators of a generation of terror.  By effective organisation and pooling of resources we shone the spotlight of truth on their pathetic stunt. We exposed them as responsible for almost 2,000 murders and as the ally of worldwide terrorism."

Commenting Jim Nicholson said, "Ms. de Brun has been promoting her meeting around the Parliament for almost two weeks.  She must be very disappointed at the tiny number of people who turned most of whom seemed to be staff from her own communist political group.  Those of us who stood quietly outside the meeting actually outnumbered those attending."
