30 years on McGuinness keeps another guilty secret – Allister

Statement by TUV Leader Jim Allister
“30 years ago today the IRA carried out the vile murder of Lord Mountbatten and crowned it with the massacre of 18 soldiers at Narrow Water.
“Boasting of the murder of Mountbatten, the IRA’s statement claiming responsibility, gloated about tearing out the “sentimental imperialist heart” of the British people. When the terrorist who planted the bomb, Tommy McMahon, was released in October 1998 Martin McGuinness was there to cheer and applaud him at the celebratory party. 10 years later this same McGuinness as Joint First Minister still takes equal gruesome pleasure in this depraved murder, a murder which investigative journalists have claimed, without challenge, that he personally approved. Therein is the real Martin McGuinness.
“But the Mountbatten murder raises other issues requiring answer from the DUP’s coalition partner. In the libel action brought by Slab Murphy against the Sunday Times sworn evidence revealed that Mountbatten’s murder was set up in return for a payment of £2m by Syria, then closely involved with the IRA’s international terrorist ally, the PLO.
“If McGuinness was indeed now a reformed character and supporter of law and order, rather than an unrepentant terrorist, then, he would be telling what he knows about these dreadful events. Instead he will put his nefarious republican code of honour above all other pledges and gloat his way through this anniversary from the highest office in the land.”
