Time for Sinn Fein to back off

19 August 2009

"Following the correct decision of the Parades Commission to decline to review permission for Friday's legitimate parade in Rasharkin, it is time for Sinn Fein to back off and quit its agitation as it tries to stoke up community tensions.

“The organisers, participants and supporters of this lawful and proper parade desire only the right to express their culture in a peaceful and traditional manner. Sinn Fein has done its utmost to stir discord. Disorder serves its agenda. Peaceful procession is the desire of the parade organisers. I trust that is what we will see, free from the intimidation and harassment which Sinn Fein wishes to bring to Rasharkin and this event."
