Allister’s billboards spread

18 May 2009

Sitting Traditional Unionist MEP Jim Allister has announced the erection of new wave of billboards across the Province.

Mr Allister said:

“Over the next few days a new wave of billboards will be erected across the Province. The billboards, in which I point an accusing finger at First Ministers Robinson and McGuinness, spell out the message very clearly. They give the lie to the DUP claim that their opponent in this election is Sinn Fein. Ordinary Unionists recognize that you cannot claim to be fighting Republicans when knocking the doors while at the same time sharing power with them at Stormont. They know that Robinson and McGuinness are united in their desire to see Jim Allister defeated.

“I have found that these billboards really resonate with ordinary Unionists. It is clear to me that disgust at the DUP’s volt face on Belfast Agreement devolution has not subsided and that discontent at the failure of devolution to deliver on the heady promises of two years ago is widespread.”
