Allister welcomes Working Time Directive development
28 April 2009
“I welcome the fact that consensus has not been reached on the Working Time Directive and I trust that this will long continue to be the case. I have vehemently opposed Brussels interference in relation to this matter, being the only Ulster MEP to speak when the issue was debated in the European Parliament back in December.
“The line must continue to be held. National governments should have the freedom to decide for themselves in relation to this fundamental socioeconomic matter.”
