Jim Allister meets Coleraine Mayor

18 May 2004

After spending the North West 200 weekend in the Coleraine area, where he received a very favourable reception whilst canvassing in Portrush, Portstewart and Coleraine, Democratic Unionist Party European election candidate, Jim Allister QC, has paid a courtesy call to Coleraine Mayor, Cllr Dessie Stewart, whilst en route to campaigning in Londonderry on Monday 17 May.

Speaking after the visit, Jim Allister said, “It is a pleasure to be able to meet the Mayor in Coleraine Borough Council’s fabulous headquarters which are a credit to Coleraine.

I congratulate Cllr Stewart on an excellent year as Mayor of Coleraine, which will shortly draw to a close.  I am aware that he has attended some 1,700 engagements during his term in office which is testimony to his commitment to Coleraine and its people”.
