The real and unaltered Sinn Fein agenda
28 March 2009
Extract from a speech by TUV Leader Jim Allister QC MEP to Ballymena Branch of Traditional Unionist Voice on Saturday 28th March 2009.
“Those deluded Unionists who think Sinn Fein has given up its republican struggle and in the fatuous words of Ian Paisley has “bought into the British state”, should read the latest offering from ‘Ogra Sinn Fein’ (Young Sinn Fein) on their website.
Here’s a few samples from ‘Nua’ Sinn Fein…. “there should not be a British Army barracks in Antrim (how’s that for empathy with the terrorist murders of 3 weeks ago?)….the Orange State is gone..it ain’t coming back. The RUC, too, has gone. In its place we have a far from perfect PSNI…When the time comes, they will merge seamlessly into an All-Ireland police service…reunification is a work in progress…Sinn Fein are working day in and day out, north and south to achieve that goal.”
And where are they doing that? From the heart of government! And who put them there? The DUP! It reminds me of what Peter Robinson rightly observed, when he was opposed to the Belfast Agreement, whose processes are designed to deliver Irish unity, “there is no quicker way to destroy Northern Ireland than from within its own government.” Now, alas, Mr Robinson is the facilitator of Sinn Fein rule.
The all-island harmonisation process, which Sinn Fein is pushing at every turn and which the DUP is helping to finance by lavishing funds on the north/south bodies, is an object lesson in how this part of the UK is intended to be detached from its present constitutional alignment.
I’m glad in just 10 weeks every Unionist voter will have the opportunity to reject IRA/Sinn Fein rule and call to account those who brought them in to rule over us. As the only candidate opposed to Sinn Fein in government, only a first preference vote for TUV can express the disgust, anger and dismay, which many rightfully feel, about 3 convicted terrorists in our government. 4th June will be a roll call of Unionists who reject IRA/Sinn Fein rule.”
