12 March 2009
TUV MEP Jim Allister will be the keynote speaker at an open meeting to address agricultural and rural funding issues, to take place on Thursday 19th March, at 8pm in the Kilmorey Arms Hotel, Kilkeel.
Speaking in advance of the event, Mr Allister said,
“It is always a pleasure to come to Kilkeel to meet with constituents on issues of importance. I look forward to speaking on my work in Brussels on behalf of Northern Ireland farmers. I will address farmers on my efforts on behalf of a number of sectors which are facing particular difficulties at this time, including the dairy and intensive sectors.”
Jim Allister will also speak on the new Rural Planning Policy PPS 21, and what difference the policy will make in practice.
A range of other speakers have been invited, including representatives of Newry and Mourne Council who will speak on new funding opportunities available under the Rural Development Programme.
This is a public meeting. Anyone with an interest in agricultural or rural issues will be particularly welcome
