Allister asks Robinson to support collusion inquiry on McGuinness

12 February 2009

Statement by TUV Leader Jim Allister MEP

"As the orchestrated demands for a hand-picked inquiry into the Funnicance murder are renewed - even though the type of judicial inquiry good enough for every other case has been on offer for years - and given the audacity of Martin McGuinness to head up these demands, I call for a public inquiry into the collusion between the holders of government office in Northern Ireland today and the murder of many of our best citizens.

“McGuinness' role should be at the heart of any such inquiry and Peter Robinson's allegations in the Assembly on 8th May 2001 - before he became his buddy in government - should form a key part of that investigation. If we have as our Joint First Minister a person guilty of the crimes alleged by Mr Robinson, then the public have the right to know and the consequences, which would flow anywhere else, of his removal from office should follow.

“I call on Mr Robinson to support this demand for a collusion inquiry centred on his joint office holder."
