Name two women in favour of terrorists in government

The comments of Iris Robinson about Bairbre Brown topping the European poll are totally disingenuous. With her husband as Joint First Minister alongside Martin McGuinness and Diane Dodds’ serving alongside three convicted terrorists in the Stormont government the old “vote DUP to stop Sinn Fein” line no longer washes with the electorate.
If the DUP were genuinely concerned about thwarting the advancement of Republicans they would not have gone into government with them. Simple as that.
To try and portray the DUP candidate as one round whom all Unionists can unite is also nonsense. Unionism was united until the DUP decided to go sell their principles for the price of office. Then it became imperative that a new party be formed to provide a voice for those Traditional Unionists who still opposed Belfast Agreement devolution.
Mrs Robinson pretends concern at the idea that Sinn Fein/IRA could strut the world stage as the voice of Northern Ireland yet this is exactly what Martin McGuinness already does when, with the DUP leader in toe, he visits the States and, indeed, Brussels just this week. By elevating the personification of IRA violence to the head of government the DUP have gifted the role of strutting the world stage to them. Only by voting for the Traditional Unionist in June’s poll can the people of Ulster hope to thwart the advance of Sinn Fein/IRA.
