Thank you, Nelson. Yes, it's still IRA/Sinn Fein

10 February 2009

Statement by TUV Leader Jim Allister MEP

"Thank you, Nelson McCausland for putting the focus back on the fact that the Leader of the party that is your partner in government was an IRA Leader. Indeed, not so long ago the Republic's Justice Minister named him as a member of the IRA Army Council. Yet, you and your party sit happily in government with them. Given your Christian name, you should know you're now supposed to turn a blind eye to the fact that it's still IRA/Sinn Fein.

What sort of surreal world does Speaker Hay occupy if the patent truth cannot be stated. Good job he wasn't Speaker on 8th May 2001 when Peter Robinson so explicitly expounded Martin McGuinness' terrorist pedigree on the floor of the Assembly and railed against the immorality of such a person being in government. Now, you can't say "Boo" to Sinn Fein in Stormont and Peter Robinson is McGuinness' buddy in government!

What a "Fair Deal" we have been delivered! Adams cocooned by a DUP Speaker, McGuinness accompanied round the world by Peter Robinson as Joint First Minister and poor Nelson, who dares to occasionally speak the truth, booted out of Stormont!"
