Allister meets Management and staff of North Down Citizens Advice Bureau
23 January 2009
Jim Allister MEP today travelled to Bangor to meet with management and staff of North Down Citizens Advice Bureau. The fact-finding visit was in response to a recent invitation received from the CAB.
Commenting on his visit, Mr Allister said,
“I was impressed by the obvious dedication of staff to their clients, as they seek to provide assistance on a wide range of issues -from providing advice on coping with redundancy and claiming benefits, to helping the public deal with mortgage arrears and debt problems.”
“As the credit crunch makes way for full-blown recession, the advisory and advocacy services of the CAB are arguably more relevant and important than ever, particularly in the area of debt management. I commend the staff and the Board of North Down CAB for all their efforts in making North Down the busiest bureau in terms of client numbers of all Northern Ireland CAB’s. Every effort must be made to allow these services not only to continue, but to flourish.”
