Allister flays Murphy over Frazer attack

27 November 2008

Statement by TUV MEP Jim Allister:

“Republican thugs attempt to abduct Willy Frazer, beat him up, steal his phone and camera and Government minister Murphy dismisses it as a “fantasy”. This, of course, is the same IRA apologist who tells us the IRA had nothing to do with the murder of Paul Quinn, or even the Northern Bank! Yet, this is the same Murphy who thinks he and his ilk in government are fit to sit in an Executive discussing policing and justice issues. I don’t think so!

The Crossmaglen attack, along with its military style execution, with men and cars coming from every angle, portrays that in South Armagh IRA bandits still roam at will. IRA control in South Armagh, alas, is the price that has been paid for what passes as “the peace process”.

I trust rigorous police investigation, unhindered by political restraints, will follow this outrageous attack on Mr Frazer.”
