Allister responds to Prime Minister’s comments

16 September 2008

“Today’s comments by the Prime Minister will be of concern to those who oppose any role for unreconstructed terrorists in appointments to the judiciary in Northern Ireland. Far from the devolution of policing and justice constituting a triumph for democracy, the handing over of these powers to Stormont’s terrorist inclusive government would represent a huge triumph for the IRA because it would mean that the embodiment of their campaign – Martin McGuinness - would jointly have his hands on the levers of power over the judiciary.”
