Where were Ulster Peers?

19 June 2008

Statement by Traditional Unionist MEP, Jim Allister:-

"I am greatly disappointed by the turn-out of Ulster Peers in the House of Lords last night in the votes on ratification of the Lisbon Treaty. This Treaty, whose imposition without a referendum is a scandal, will do immense damage to our constitutional integrity as a nation and subject us to further undemocratic dictatorship from Brussels. Why, therefore, were Baroness Paisley, Lord Morrow and Lord Trimble not present to vote against the Government's disgraceful railroading through of ratification? This is a great let down for all in Ulster who care about British sovereignty and liberties."
