MEP Congratulates McCulla on OBE

16 June 2008

Traditional Unionist MEP, Jim Allister has congratulated Mr Alan McCulla on his elevation to the Order of the British Empire (OBE). Mr McCulla, who is Chief Executive of Anglo-North Irish Fish Producers’ Organisation, is to receive an OBE for services to the fishing industry and to the community in Northern Ireland.

The MEP said
“I warmly congratulate Mr McCulla on his inclusion in Her Majesty’s Birthday honours list. Mr McCulla has worked tirelessly on behalf of the interests of local fishermen, often through what have been very difficult circumstances facing the industry. This honour reflects the energy and determination which Mr McCulla has demonstrated on behalf of the fishing sector. It is an honour to Mr McCulla personally, and indeed for the Northern Ireland fishing sector.”
