MEP says slow-burn Destruction of Academic Selection must be Rejected

15 May 2008

"Ruane's latest wheeze requires to be rejected. It amounts to nothing more than slow-burn destruction of academic selection. It is designed to get her to the same ideological destination - the destruction of our grammar schools and reduction of education standards to the lowest common denominator.
The shamble brought to our education system by Sinn Fein worsens by the day. Parents are entitled to certainty. All they are getting is increasing misery and destabilisation. If this was a democratic government, then the Executive majority would prevail and order would replace disorder, but, alas, this is what you get when you pervert democracy and embrace a marxist inclined party at the heart of government."
